New Maui Moisture Hair Products - Review

Image
I was walking around Boots yesterday and I noticed a new stand containing 'Maui Moisture' hair products - a brand I had not heard of before but the bright colours caught my eye! All of the products retail for £8.99 so they are not a super affordable brand but they are also not a high end brand. Boots are now stocking 5 varieties of Maui Moisture products:   - Thicken & Restore (Bamboo Fibre)  - Curl Quench (Coconut Oil)   - Strength & Anti-Breakage (Agave)   - Revive & Hydrate (Shea Butter)   - Nourish & Moisture (Coconut Milk)  In each of these varieties, there are 3 products (excluding Curl Quench which has 4 products) available. To be honest, I was interested in all of the varieties, but I smelt them all and the Nourish & Moisture (Coconut Milk) products smelt AMAZING so I had to pick them up. The 3 products in this range includes a shampoo, a conditioner and an oil mist. I was disappointed that there was not a hair mask available in this

Top 10 Products from TamBeauty.com

Image
TAM Beauty is name of the company who own Make Up Revolution, Freedom Make Up and I Heart Make Up and their website stocks all of these brands, alongside a few other brands (including Colourless Hair Colour Removal). All of their products are 100% cruelty free and do not tests on animals. These are 10 of my favourite products that I have purchased from Tam Beauty's website. Tam Beauty also offer free delivery in the UK on orders over £30. 1. Make Up Revolution Pro HD Amplified 35 Palette - Dynamic - £15.00  Make Up Revolution recently came out with a range of palettes called the Amplified 35 Palettes, which a lot of people have compared to the Morphe palettes (which aren't much more expensive). I purchased the 'Dynamic' version of this palette because of the beautiful purple shades - I didn't have any palettes that were similar to this. First off, this palette is amazing. There are so many different looks you can do with this palette and the quality of the eye

Testing Essence Make Up (Everything Under £4!)

Image
If you haven't heard of the brand Essence, it is a very affordable brand which seems quite popular in the U.S. but is only available in Wilko stores in the UK. Everything I have bought to try out was £3 or under and I checked the reviews first on Wilko's website and a few of the products I have bought were based on their 5 star reviews online! Instant Matt Setting Spray - £3.00 This setting spray has quite a strong chemically scent when you first spray it but the scent goes straight away. It has a really nice mist which covers your whole face, unlike a lot of setting sprays that I have tried before. It is advertised as a non-sticky, lightweight, oil-free formula, which I agree with. It makes your face feel matte as soon as it dries and I think it kept my make up in place for longer without my skin getting oily. You get 50ml of product and you don't have to use a lot, so it is great value for money. This is a great product from Essence and I would definitely repurc

Must Have Products for Oily / Combination Skin

Image
Having oily / combination skin can be a nightmare situation which can ruin your make up and can get much worse in the summer as the weather starts to get warmer (well, it doesn't tend to do that in Scotland..). I have combination skin, which is normal on my cheeks and most of my forehead but gets oily on my t-zone and chin throughout the day. However, some products are great at keeping these oils at bay and they are vital parts to anyone's skincare routine if they have oily / combination skin. Seaweed Range from The Body Shop:  I've discussed this range here before on my blog, but it truly is amazing stuff for those with oily / combination skin. My favourite three products are the: Seaweed Oil Balancing Face Mask - £11.00 (100ml) Seaweed Oil Balancing Toner - £7.50 (250ml)  Seaweed Oil Control Overnight Treatment Gel - £14.00 (30ml) These products all leave your skin feeling fresh and clean without drying it out. If you have combination skin like me, you migh

Eyeshadow Shades To Suit Your Eye Colour

Image
Although there are no rules to make up, if you're a beginner or simply just wanting to know what make up to buy next, this guide will help you determine which eyeshadow shades you should be sticking to if you want to enhance your eye colour. This is just based on my personal opinion and research from make up artists and experts - if you want to experiment with bright colours, you do that! Do whatever makes you happy! But if you are looking for some inspiration or a rough guide of what will suit your eye colour, look no further! Green Eyes:  I have green eyes and I have experimented a lot with different colours of eyeshadow - obviously a lot of your eyeshadow choice is based on personal preference but I have found that blue eyeshadow does not work with my eye colour at all! For green eyes, it's best to stick with the following:  - Purple / Plum Shades - Neutral browns / Burgundy - Khaki / Dark Green Shades - Golds / Bronze One of my new favourite eyeshadow palet

New Products I Tried In May

Image
So because I had a spending ban in April (to try and get through some of the products I already own!) I went a bit crazy at the start of May and bought a ton of make up and beauty products! Also, it was my birthday on the 15th of the month so I ended up with a load more products! So to justify the insane amount of money I spent, I thought I would share my first impressions on some of the products that I tried for the first time in May to hopefully help some of you guys out! Queen Helene Mint Julep Face Masque - 340g - £4.30 I bought this on eBay after I had read about it in a blog post and we all know I love a good face mask! This face mask comes in a smaller tube or this huge tub - I bought the huge tub because it worked out better value for money. First impressions on the mask - it smells like straight up toothpaste. I get that it's a 'Mint' face mask, but it genuinely smells like nothing other than toothpaste! It is quite a thick formula and it dries down within a

The Ordinary 'Colours' Coverage Foundation Review

Image
If you haven't heard of 'The Ordinary', they are a very affordable brand who are part of the company Deciem and are known predominantly for their innovative skincare products and more recently, their primers. A few weeks ago, The Ordinary launched two new foundations - a serum foundation (£5.70) and a coverage foundation (£5.90) and these foundations are both available in 21 different shades. The shades are split into pink undertones, yellow undertones, red undertones and neutral undertones and also has variations with silver and golden highlights. I purchased the coverage foundation in the shade 1.0N (which is neutral toned and for very fair skin). My skin is porcelain with neutral undertones (about a Mac NC10 or lighter) and I have combination, acne prone skin that gets oily on my t-zone throughout the day. The Coverage Foundation - £5.90 Claims:  -  A high-coverage creamy foundation that softens undesirable hues. - The foundation contains SPF15. - Lightweight, n
